The Wedding of Tanner and Elizabeth
This wedding is near and dear to my heart, for many reasons. Not only did I have the privilege of doing her makeup, I was also a bridesmaid… and did I mention I’m also her sister-in-law?
“Tanner and I met at a bakery that a mutual friend took me to. She knew him from high school, and I knew her from college. She brought me to the bakery, and when I first saw him I had such butterflies! We invited him to a movie night and afterwords I took him home. We talked for three hours, straight, in the car! We hung out the rest of the week and started and by the end of that week we started dating.”
“It was Christmas Day 2014 at my Aunt Sheri’s house. We, traditionally, open gifts all together as a family. When it came that time, we all gathered around the seating area when Tanner came downstairs dressed in his Dress Blues. He walked over to where I was sitting, got down on one knee, and asked me to be his wife.”
We all arrived at DoubleTree early to get ready for the big day
And while the ladies were prepping in one room, the gents got dressed in a room down the hall
Elizabeth decided to do a first look with her bridesmaids
She looked absolutely stunning!
The bridesmaids were dressed in a navy blue, floor length, strapless, chiffon dresses for an elegant look. The bride and her mother made all of the bouquets themselves!
Elizabeth also decided to do a first look with her father
Then gave him a locket with his mother’s picture inside it, she had passed away not too long ago
Tanner was dressed in his Dress Blues
Though the bride and groom didn’t have a first look, they met up before the ceremony began to pray
This couple decided to do the traditional lighting of the unity candle for the ceremony
The bride and her mother also made the table seating arrangments
While the guests enjoyed the open bar, the bridal party went around back to take photos
The groomsmen were dressed in light grey suits with a navy blue handkercheif, boutonniere, and bow tie
Isn’t this couple photogenic?!
The bride also made the centerpieces, which were glitter spray-painted mason jars with ribbon and rhinestone belts. Inside were flowers to match the different bouquets
While the bride and groom had their first dance the bridal party lined up behind them
Suddenly, the bride and groom were called back out onto the dance floor for another dance
When her father came out singing “I Loved Her First”
Everyone was in tears… including myself
“My favorite memory at the wedding was there was so many laughs, advice, support, and love for Tanner and I.”
007 played as Tanner tried to get to his bride through Abby (her sister) and Christine (her mother) for the garter toss
At the end of the night guests were given ribbons to wave the couple off
“My advice to future brides would simply be: No matter how crazy, no matter how many questions you get asked on your special day, and no matter how exhausted you are, you are getting married to the man of your dreams. Everyone is there to just make your day incredibly special. Everyone loves you and will always support you and your marriage.”
