The Wedding of Chase and Kristy
‘I love our story because it’s so apparent that God’s hand was the one who orchestrated it all! We both had our eyes on each other way before we were ever introduced. Chase was that handsome guy I would see around the halls or Liberty University, hoping that maybe one day we would meet. As my friend Brooke and I were walking, he passed by, and I confided in her how cute I thought he was. That evening she dragged me to our friend Sam’s room, who knew Chase, and told her all about my crush. How embarrassing! Sam then called her brother, who happened to be Chase’s RA and friends, and her brother called Chase and arranged for us to meet at Liberty’s talent show. We haven’t stopped talking since! It wasn’t until later that I found out Chase had his eye on me since freshman year, I was thrilled!’
It was the 4th of July and my family and I were on vacation in Emerald Isle, NC, a tradition we have had as long as I can remember. That morning we decided to decorate the porch and gazebo with lights so that we could watch the fireworks that night as we celebrated as a family together. Little did I know that the whole time I had been decorating the scene for my very own proposal. We all enjoyed another beautiful day on the beach and headed back up early for a nice dinner together. Chase had asked if I wanted to go on a walk on the beach after dinner as the sun was setting and being the hopeless romantic that I am of course I loved that idea. As we walked down the beach we reminisced of the two years we had spent together, thankful for the blessings and sweet memories that came with it while dreaming about our future. As we drew near to our beach house I saw in the distance that there were candles lining the walkway leading into the gazebo. Once we reached the gazebo Chase sweetly took me by the hand and asked if I would be his forever. Of course I quickly said “YES” and each one of my family members came out of their hiding places cheering and taking pictures from afar, including Chase’s family who watched the whole thing via Skype!
The bride and her ladies arrived at the venue in a white stretch limo, in matching robes to get ready for the big day
Kristy decided on a sentimental first look; not with her husband-to-be, but with her father
Before the wedding took place, her bridesmaids prayed over her
Having steal-grey tuxes is such a sleek look!
They had their ceremony out on the balcony of the venue overlooking the bay and the pier then used the ballroom for their reception
The bride and groom wrote letters to each other to read together, separated by a door, before the ceremony began. It was their “no peek.”
The programs were written on heart shaped fans
The mothers of the bride and groom walked down the aisle first to light the unity candle under the gazebo
“My favorite memory was seeing my husbands face at the end of the aisle because at that very moment I felt like I was floating, I was so excited to begin my life with the man I cherished with my whole heart. I think life gives you little slices of heaven and that was definitely one of those days. My heart was overflowing as I got to marry the love of my life with everyone we cherished and loved watching”
Before saying their vows, their parents came up alongside them and prayed together; all as one family
To make sure the bridesmaids and groomsmen were recognized by the guests, aside from their attire, they were introduced like this:
They also ordered a map, from Etsy.com, for their guests to sign instead of a guest book. The map had hearts at special places connected to their love story. California for where Chase was from, Maryland for where Kristy was from, Virginia for where they mat, and North Carolina for where they got engaged.
For their first dance, the bridesmaids and groomsmen were lined up behind them
The venue provided the wonderful catering
“Overall we had said from the beginning that we wanted our wedding to display Gods love through and through.”
They had such a stunning cake!
And at the end of the night the bride and groom had a sparkler send off
“My advice would be: don’t focus so much on the small details of your wedding because at the end of the day you are marrying the love of your life and that should be the main focus. Cherish every single moment because the day will come and go so fast and I promise you it will be one of those days you wish you could relive over and over again.”
